Very correct, confident posture with beautiful bright soft crimpy fleece.
On 11/20/07 Pholly underwent an amputation to her right rear leg. Her hock became septic for an unknown reason and neither our vet, nor the CSU hospital could control the infection. Her infection combined with her pain level brought the vets to the painful conclusion that the only humane thing to do was to remove the septic joint. Until we can determine Pholly's quality of life, and whether or not she will be a breeding female, she will not be offered for sale. Pholly has possibly the best, loving personality on the property and we knew that putting her down due to the price of the amputation was not an option. If she cannot breed for us, then she will be a very expensive, but much loved, pet here at Dutch Valley Ranch.
At this time we are investigating the possibility of a prosthetic leg for Pholly. Since Pholly is still a baby, we want to be sure that her spine does not twist with only having one back leg, and a prosthetic leg may be the answer to a healthy development. Keep an eye on Pholly's page for photos of her recovery, and her new leg.
